Pallet Racking Inspections

One safety aspect of warehouses that is commonly neglected is the inspection of pallet racking.

Faulty or damaged pallet racking can result in serious accidents affecting people and property. Pallet racking should be inspected on a regular basis at least every twelve months to

a. ensure the correct application and use of the equipment.
b. ensure safe working loads are adhered to.
c. ensure the racking installation has not been altered.
d. examine the extent of any damage due to impact.
e. examine any out of plumb racking.
f . examine for dislocation and deformation of sections and connections for upright and beams, and
e. examine connectors for signs of cracking at the welds.
